That’s What She Said: Amy Nicole
8 Things Every Man Should Know About Women
Men have enjoyed the autonomy of self-definition for much of human history; women have not been so fortunate. The social rules constraining how women are taught to view themselves, their place in society, and expectations of appropriate conduct have evolved. Today’s woman enjoys far more liberty to define herself on her own terms. It’s our pleasure to introduce Amy Nicole (a regular contributor to the Dignified Devil); a modern woman. We had one simple request for Amy: Tell us eight things every man should know about women. This is Amy in her own words. Enjoy, gentlemen…

NUMBER ONE
Whether a woman admits it or not, she loves when the man takes control, in every sense. No girl wants to actually run the whole show. Sure, let her pick the dinner spot a couple times, but other than that surprise her. Women love the thrill.

NUMBER TWO
All guys should swallow their pride and read 50 Shades of Grey. End of story.

NUMBER THREE
Guys need to have a good taste in music. I cannot deal with country, it is like nails to a chalk board in my ears. I mean really? Have a little swag mixed with some techno and hip hop.

NUMBER FOUR
Help a woman out in every way possible including her career. I’ve had the dumbest relationships where they do the opposite because they don’t want to “lose me” when in reality it pushed me farther away. Why wouldn’t you want your women to achieve her goals? Stop being selfish.

NUMBER FIVE
Guys, social media cannot be sketchy. If I cannot see your wall, forget about it. That is such a red flag. You could have multiple girlfriends for all I know.

NUMBER SIX
RESPECT. If you do not respect a woman and her wishes you may as well just leave. You might be thinking, “Wow, this girl is hard to handle.” And yes, maybe I am, but as a woman I know I deserve the best treatment. Every father wants someone who is going to respect his daughter, and at the end of the day that is what is most important.

NUMBER SEVEN
Family first. If you do not bring her into your family and make her feel a part of it, it is going to be a problem. Being Italian I am used to a very well-connected and oriented family. So if a man cannot bring me into his family and I cannot bring him into mine, there is going to be conflict.

NUMBER EIGHT
Bottom line, women like to be pleased. Don’t make us ask for the things you know we want. We HATE having to ask. Just do it. Like Nike.

The Photographers Perspective and Bio: The look I wanted to create with Amy was a powerful young professional, hanging out in her hotel room on Sunset Blvd, not caring about a thing in the world. It has become one of my personal favorite sets. It’s very “Hollywood” with a bit of my own flavor mixed into it. Amy is the only model I know that could make an bathrobe look sexy! A little about me. My name is Neave. I am 26 years old living in Los Angeles with a degree in Graphic Design. During school I was fascinated with magazine layouts and typography. A lot of times I would use images I found on the internet to make the said layouts. One day I decided to create those images myself and make the layouts from the ground up. So I made use of an old camera that I had sitting in the corner of my room and photographed some friends. It has been exactly a year since that day I am full-time freelance photographer.
