A Woman’s Perspective
What You Don’t Know…
Popular culture is a masquerade. Our world is so digitally-enhanced, post-produced, and edited for content the line between reality and perception seems irrelevant. The image of women we create out of the pictures we see in magazine, movies, and on television is a phantom. Beyond the neatly packaged, primetime presentations, there is the real woman; the modern woman. She is nuanced and complex, mysterious and captivating. We found such a woman willing to share her secrets, willing to tell the truth no matter how bitter the pill. These are the opinions of a modern woman.
Woman have many pet peeves the average man seems incapable of understanding. Yes, women can be incredibly difficult to figure out, but the fundamental truth is quite simple: we want to be pleased. So many men so completely fail at this I have decided to give you a privileged peek into the inner thoughts of the modern woman. Let’s begin…
So, you ask, what drives women crazy? Not crazy in that “this man is so wonderfully charming I must have him now” way, but in the “everything this guy does makes my skin crawl” way. Here is what you should pay attention to right away. First, pay attention to our needs, in every aspect. We work very hard to see you are satisfied with all facets of your life; we invest an incredible amount of emotion in concern of your well-being. Be gentleman enough to do the same. Reciprocity, men. Reward us for being the woman in your life with a genuine concern for our well-being. Take the time to understand how we feel and give those feelings due consideration. All women deserve it; a dignified woman demands it. Second, take the time to tend to personal grooming. The world may be retro-crazy right now, but a well-groomed man never goes out of style. Personal hygiene is more important than you know. An unkempt man is just an overgrown boy. Embrace the rituals of your fathers, shave, shower…these things should not need be said, yet with each new day we encounter scores of untidy boys mistaking themselves for grown men. Cleanliness is godliness; a bit of cologne is a welcome touch of subtle charm. Finally, understand women today have many options. This is not a threat. This is truth. You are competing for our affections with scores of men. Distinguish yourselves gentlemen. If you are unwilling to treat a woman as she deserves, she will find someone who will.
The special woman in your life may be too considerate of your feelings to be so direct with you. I am not burdened with such concern. I promise to give you the truth, simple and direct. Take these tips to heart, I will be back with more of the woman’s perspective next week; until then, stay dignified gentlemen.
